Supporting Young People in Police Interviews - Home
The commission's current Community Law Reform project is looking at independent persons who support young people in police interviews. We are currently working on our final report. Submissions closed on 1 September 2009.
Independent persons are volunteers who attend a police interview with a young person when their parent or guardian is unable to.
A Background Paper has been released which explains current law and practice. It can be downloaded from this website or ordered from the commission.
