Assisted Reproductive Technology and Adoption: Position Paper One - Access

The commission released its Assisted Reproductive Technology & Adoption: Position Paper One—Access on 11 May 2005. This was the first in a series of three papers which outlined the commission's interim recommendations and gave people a chance to comment before preparation of a final report.

The paper called for comment by 6 June 2005 and the commission received over 350 submissions.

The paper includes information and interim recommendations about:

• access to assisted reproductive technology
• self-insemination
• gamete donation
• posthumous use of gametes.
