The Commission has received the following submissions to its focused review of how the change or suppression practices ban is working, not including any that were confidential, lacking information or outside the scope of the project. The submissions below are published with the permission of those who submitted them. Names have been withheld so that individuals are not identified and any information identifying individuals has been redacted.
The issues we review sometimes generate strong opinions and disagreement. As part of its role, the Commission considers the full range of perspectives and experiences put forward by community members. Some submissions may contain content that readers find confronting or distressing. The views expressed in submissions are those of the individuals or organisations who submit them. The fact that the Commission publishes a submission does not imply that the Commission accepts or agrees with these views.
These submissions relate to change or suppression practices. These practices can cause ongoing trauma and long-term health issues. If you need counselling and help, you can get support by contacting the organisations on our Support Services page.
