Engage in Law Reform

There are several ways that you can contribute to law reform in Victoria.

Make a submission

You can make a submission to an inquiry when it is open for submissions. Currently, the only inquiry that is open for submissions is Stalking, until 5 August 2021. You can make a submission by reading the Stalking consultation paper, then sending us an email at stalking@lawreform.vic.gov.au. Individuals who have experienced stalking behaviour can also take our confidential online survey. Visit our Stalking project page for details.

To find out and stay up to date when inquiries are open for submissions, follow us on social media or contact us. Find out more about submissions.

Participate in consultations

When an inquiry is under way we consult with people who have experience or knowledge. Find out about our consultations.

Suggest a community law reform project

The Commission undertakes projects that involve reforms to laws that affect the Victorian community. You can propose areas of law that you think need to be reformed. Find out more about suggesting a community law project.
