Social media policy
LinkedIn and Facebook
The Victorian Law Reform Commission’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages are managed by our Communications Team.
We post information about our references, consultations, launches, and media releases, as well as links to our website and photos.
Comments
We encourage feedback through comments. However, we are not able to respond to all comments.
We want everyone to feel comfortable visiting our pages and expect that all comments will be respectful and productive.
We will remove or report posts, comments or links which are:
- discriminatory, racist or sexist
- offensive or obscene
- threatening, harassing or bullying
- potentially defamatory, false or misleading
- inflammatory, or which incite hatred, contempt or ridicule towards other people or groups
- disrespectful towards other people or groups or which may make others feel unsafe
- commercial content, advertisements or spam,
- campaigning for a product, service, cause or initiative
- an infringement of the confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property or legal rights of others
- otherwise, unlawful or inappropriate.
We retain the right to ban, block or report any user whose posts or comments include any of the above, or who otherwise targets other users of our page.
We also retain the right to remove any comments which are irrelevant or off-topic.
The views, opinions or information contained in user comments are the opinions of the authors and do not reflect the views of the Victorian Law Reform Commission. The Commission does not endorse the views contained in user comments, nor in likes or links to other websites, media or content.

Availability
Our Facebook and LinkedIn pages will be monitored during office hours (9am–5pm Monday to Friday). Any material posted outside those hours that does not meet the guidelines described above will be attended to the following workday.
